My way of looking at things
As long as I can think, beautiful things fascinate me.
That doesn't necessarily mean that I admire normative forms of beauty. More than that I try to see and value the small details that Roland Barthes might have meant when he introduced the word punctum. Talking about punctum: That's also what Tobias Huber and I called our collaborative Photography and Design collective.
I love fashion photography, art direction, available light, unusual outfits and crazy poses. We've seen the same faces over and over again and I think it's about time to break the pattern. In the future I would love to concentrate more on questioning stereotypes, in models as well as in gender normatives. If you want to work together on a project feel free to reach out to me!
"Art should comfort the disturbed and disturb the comfortable."
– César A. Cruz
In my artistic work I try to explore things I find interesting or controversial. I want to understand the world than surrounds me, as much as the people living in it. Within this work I always try to keep in mind that everyone of us is conditioned to live according to a certain system, as for me the only way to truly understand things is putting them in context. I use digital and film photography and occasionally experiment with different printing techniques, such as Monotypes or Linotypes.
In contrast to all this conceptional work, I also do street photography. It's my attempt to capture the beauty in the daily life, without being guided by the need to be innovative.
